“Wait, you do all that?” Field Manager Kim Moorees often hears this reaction when she talks about her job. “People are surprised that, as an employer, we actively think along with someone when they’re struggling due to personal circumstances.” Yet that’s exactly what she and her colleague Mark Pronk do every day: helping YaWorks colleagues be the best version of themselves. Field Managers speak with their consultants at least once a month. Kim: “Sometimes we visit them at the client’s site, or we meet at the office. And then we check in: is everything going well? If not, is there something we can do? It doesn’t matter whether the issue is personal or work-related.”

On the Same Page
Together with HR Manager John Bos, they care for YaWorks’ consultants. The trio forms a close-knit but diverse team, says Mark. “We’re different personalities, but we complement each other well. For consultants, it’s great to have diversity within the FM team. If the chemistry isn’t quite right with one Field Manager, there’s always another you can connect with.”

Demanding Environment
What they share is the belief in the importance of happiness at work. Kim: “That’s the foundation. Ultimately, you want people to wake up and say: ‘Yes, I’m looking forward to the day.’ And if that’s not the case, we work together to change that.” Mark: “What I love is when someone wants to achieve something but hits a wall—and then, with the right support, manages to succeed anyway.” Kim: “Recently, we had a colleague facing mental challenges. Consultants often work in demanding environments, and at home, expectations can also be high. Setting boundaries can be hard. During our conversation, we offered to start a coaching program—something we provide in-house. All three of us are trained, accredited coaches. Of course, everyone can choose the coach they feel most comfortable with. It’s great that we can offer that extra bit of support.”

Just Because
Both Mark and Kim see this personal attention as typical of YaWorks. Mark: “Not long ago, we treated a colleague to a special lunch because she’d been working a lot of evenings and weekends. Just because—simply as a gesture of appreciation. That kind of thing makes my job really rewarding. It’s often the small gestures that get the most gratitude. That’s also why many people stay with YaWorks for a long time.”

Behind the Club
In addition to support from Field Management, YaWorks also organizes “a lot of great stuff” for consultants to show appreciation for their hard work. Personal development is never overlooked. Together, we explore people’s ambitions, offer the right training, and remind consultants when it’s time to renew their certifications. When we see potential, we offer relevant training—both to deepen technical knowledge and to develop soft skills. These are just as important as the technical ones, especially in leadership roles. All these efforts contribute to what Mark frequently hears from clients: that YaWorks delivers top-tier quality. “That’s also because we’re not blindly chasing growth. We emphasize continuity. We don’t just hire anyone—we attract and retain the right people. When we’re at an event together, you can feel that everyone genuinely stands behind the company. I’ve seen it very differently elsewhere.” Kim agrees: “That’s what makes employees share enthusiastic stories with others. And that in turn attracts new colleagues who also feel at home here. That’s what it’s all about in the end.”
