As a network automation consultant at a leading company, I'm quite proud of our achievements. Together with colleagues, I've set up a network automation platform that has significantly accelerated the deployment of a completely new network.
The platform also keeps the network compliant by immediately detecting and resolving deviations from the "golden configuration.”
My work is very versatile: I spend about 70% of my time developing automation solutions. The remaining 30% goes to implementing changes, knowledge sharing, and devising new applications. Currently, I'm focusing on solutions for implementing and maintaining the "golden configuration" standard. Using a network automation platform, I generate configurations based on templates in the CMDB. These automatically set up new equipment and check existing equipment for deviations.
Ultimately, my work ensures faster and more stable internet for people at home.
The biggest challenge? Making automation tools as user-friendly as possible, so that engineers within the organization embrace the "automation first" principle.
I expect network automation to play an increasingly important role in more and more companies in the future. I can't wait to help YaWorks' customers shape that in the right way.
