We spoke with our colleague Bart de Bruijn about Sense of Belonging. Bart is, among other things, an Advanced Specialist. When choosing to work at YaWorks, the atmosphere and interaction with colleagues played a major role.

''A warm bath. It sounds cliché, but that's how it feels to work here. YaWorks is special to me, it’s like a circle of friends. This was already evident during my first interview. It was mainly about 'who are you' and 'are you a suitable person for our team'? In the IT sector, it's usually about what you do and what you can do. Only after that comes the person. Not at YaWorks. After all these years, that still holds true.

YaWorks is more than just work. Sure, you need to be able to express yourself in terms of knowledge, challenges, and ambitions. But at YaWorks, it's certainly also about having fun together with your colleagues. You notice this during all the outings, the annual ski trip, but definitely also in daily interactions. Everyone is different, but at YaWorks, you can be yourself. And if something's bothering you, you have your colleague to turn to. Whether it's a technical challenge or something personal, there is always someone ready to help you.

Conversely, I also enjoy helping people, and I sometimes give training sessions. Recently, I gave a session on a personal topic: Autism. I've known for a while that I have this. It has never been made into an issue. In fact, there has only been understanding. YaWorks has even indicated that if they can help me with this in any way, they will. The understanding is really appreciated. Yes, I'm definitely in the right place here!''
